About me... Suzie Grogan
I am by profession a writer of non-fiction, fiction, features, web copy and the occasional poem. I write for fun, for money and because I just have to in order to stay sane. I have now been writing features on social and literary history and mental health for the past ten years years and have had three books published, the most recent, John Keats: Poetry, Life & Landscapes was published by Pen and Sword Books in 2021. I am currently working on two further commissions for the same publisher.
I write regularly for national magazines and am a contributor to The Wordsworth Trust’s Romanticism Blog and others focusing on the Romantic Movement. I have written widely on the subject of mental health and focus on how art and landscape can combine to inspire and nurture.
A Londoner with her heart in the Lake District, I now live in Brittany with my husband and rescue dogs, Teddy and Holly.
I am also an experienced copy editor and proofreader, a researcher and speaker and have given many talks on my work. I also manage community projects, including the Wiveliscombe Children of the Great War Project which ran from 2014 to 2016.
I am a law graduate with a post-graduate diploma in Research & Consultancy, awarded with distinction and have been freelance since 2001.
For 5 years I hosted a fortnightly show on Somerset local radio station 10Radio called 'Talking Books', chatting to authors about their work and highlight the value of the written and spoken word. To find out more and listen in to some of my past shows go to my Soundcloud stream HERE
